Acne treatments that are good and don’t cost a fortune
Acne is a much feared skin condition that can be difficult to cure and cost a fortune to treat. Most people, often, cannot afford these expenses. A great alternative are skin products prepared at home. They are a lot cheaper than and as effective as modern drugs. These home remedies may take time to get rid of acne but do less damage to the skin. None of them have any adverse effects.
Some well known home made remedies
Baking soda and tea tree oil that are the two most common ingredients used in treating acne. Of the two treatments the one using baking soda is more common. Baking soda, apart from being an alkaline substance, is good at destroying bacteria that cause acne. It can also prevent the spread of acne to other parts of the body. To use baking soda all you have to do is take a teaspoon of baking soda and mix with a bit of water to make a paste. The skin is then prepared by washing and cleaning it with a proper soap or cleanser. The paste is gently rubbed on to the area around the acne spots. After application the area is rinsed. Tea tree oil is also well known for its anti bacterial properties. Several studies have demonstrated that it can be as efficient as benzoyl peroxide in killing the bacteria that causes acne. Take a cotton swab and put just a few drops of tea tree oil on it. Then gently apply the oil on the acne lesion. Make sure you don’t take too much of the oil. Tea tree oil can be bought from natural food or health food store.
Some points that need to be noted
Never scrub the affected parts too vigorously while cleaning. That might result in more acne. Select your cleanser carefully. Avoid cleansers that have chemicals that might damage your skin. You will have to be patient with homemade remedies. They take more time but leave the skin healthier and less prone to irritation. Always consult your physician before using any acne curing products, be they be even home made products. Along with treatment you must have low carb diet and drink plenty of water.
